Diversity of thought is an important resource
for any organization. This unit discusses the benefits of diversity of
thought and how to achieve those benefits through diversity, equity, and
inclusion in hiring and personnel practices. Pertinent laws are reviewed
that govern personnel actions.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this self-study course, participants will be able to:
- Recognize how diversity of thought impacts and applies to the laboratory
- Discuss diversity and inclusion and their impact on the laboratory and the laboratory professional
- Describe diversity and health disparities and patient outcomes
