ECLIPS - The Trifecta: Let’s Talk About Debriefing

In the ECLIPS series finale, presenters will discuss commonly-referenced debriefing methods. Debriefing has been regarded as the most important phase where the meaningful learning takes place. During this interactive session, we will introduce various debriefing models used in simulation and IPE, review the practical applications, and participate in debriefing exercises.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES


At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to

1.Discuss the importance of debriefing including its role in both healthcare simulation (HCS) and interprofessional education (IPE).
2.Differentiate commonly used debriefing methods providing descriptions and applications for each method.
3.Construct a debriefing exercise to include the following components: set the tone for the debriefing session, re-emphasize the learning objectives of the activity, and encourage open discussion among participants.

This recorded presentation is P.A.C.E. ® accredited. The instruction level for this activity is Intermediate. One (1) P.A.C.E. ® contact hour and one and one (1) Florida credit hour in the area General will be awarded to participants. ASCLS P.A.C.E.® is accepted by the ASCP/ASCLS/AGT Board of Certification and all states, including Florida and California, as an approved provider of continuing education for recertification and licensure.
