Promotion and Retention and Tenure, Oh My!

Preparing for reappointment, tenure, or promotion at a college or university laboratory science program is the first step in what can be a rewarding, yet challenging, journey. This session will provide tips and strategies for new faculty members to help them survive and succeed in the land of academia. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES


At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:

1.Provide examples of faculty role activities deemed appropriate for teaching, scholarship, and service.
2.Compare variations in the PRT process and submission in academic settings.
3.Recognize the value in continually tracking activities and supporting information needed for the PRT document.

This recorded presentation is P.A.C.E. ® accredited. The instruction level for this activity is Intermediate. One (1) P.A.C.E. ® contact hour and one and one (1) Florida credit hour in the area General will be awarded to participants. ASCLS P.A.C.E.® is accepted by the ASCP/ASCLS/AGT Board of Certification and all states, including Florida and California, as an approved provider of continuing education for recertification and licensure.
