Innovative Clinical Experience Model

This presentation will provide an overview of the University of Minnesota’s 12-week clinical experience, including the scheduling process, preparation for students and clinical sites, the importance of affective domain during and beyond clinicals, meaningful student assignments, and ways the university and program are working to improve clinical experiences for all students.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES


At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
1.Describe strategies to prepare students and clinical sites for scheduled clinical experiences.
2.Discuss the importance of student affective domain during and beyond clinicals.
3.Summarize assignments that provide activities to engage students during the clinical experience.

This recorded presentation is P.A.C.E. ® accredited. The instruction level for this activity is Intermediate. One (1) P.A.C.E. ® contact hour and one and one (1) Florida credit hour in the area General will be awarded to participants. ASCLS P.A.C.E.® is accepted by the ASCP/ASCLS/AGT Board of Certification and all states, including Florida and California, as an approved provider of continuing education for recertification and licensure. ASCLS is an approved provider with CE Broker for Florida licensees.

This intermediate-level program is appropriate for laboratory professionals working in clinical, public health and academic settings.
