Droplet digital PCR - Basic Concepts and Clinical Applications

From the 2021 Joint Annual Meeting (recorded 6/30/2021)
Presented by Dragana Milosevic, MS

Use of digital polymerase chain reaction technology is growing rapidly in last decade. In last few years it is becoming a gold standard for nucleic acid quantification. Presentation will be focused on basic concepts of droplet digital PCR, presenting its advantages and clinical applications in Molecular Genomics laboratories.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the basics of droplet digital PCR (ddPCR)
  • Outline the advantages of the ddPCR over other PCR methods
  • Discuss the applications of the ddPCR methodology in clinical laboratories
