Demonstrating Clinical Laboratory Value through Healthcare Analytics and Process Improvement

We will outline opportunities for leaders in the clinical laboratory to employ healthcare analytics and process improvement (HAPI) to drive change and highlight laboratory value to other health system leaders. We plan to describe a few examples, from different healthcare systems, to illustrate HAPI projects with laboratory leadership. We will also develop a list of several key leaders in a health system and broader community whom laboratory leaders should know and may approach with HAPI projects.

At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
  1. Define healthcare analytics opportunities and process improvement and describe important steps in the process
  2. List important requirements HAPI project success
  3. Identify some key external colleagues for collaboration with laboratory leaders to carry out HAPI projects
