With a career in cytogenetics
spanning five decades, the speaker will provide an overview of the profession
and reflect on changes that have occurred in the field of cytogenetics. This
presentation is an awarded lecture in honor of Dr. Gordon W. Dewald, who was
recognized world-wide as a leader and innovator in the field of cytogenetics.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this presentation,
participants will be able to:
- Summarize the scientific and cultural evolution of laboratory genetics.
- Identify the changes and challenges encountered by those in the genetics laboratory.
- Consider possible future paths for genetics laboratories to better interpret and integrate large data sets.

ASCLS is approved as a provider of continuing

Program. One (1) P.A.C.E. ® contact hour and one (1) Florida credit hour in the
