Learn about criteria to
identify acute kidney injury (AKI) and chronic kidney disease (CKD), including
biomarkers and their historic use in different equations for calculating
estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR). Impacts of implementing the 2021
eGFR equation will be discussed, including informatics and patient safety
aspects.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this presentation,
participants will be able to:
- Discuss the challenges of diagnosing acute kidney injury (AKI) and chronic kidney disease (CKD)
- Evaluate the tests and calculations for kidney disease for efficacy
- Describe at least two patient safety concerns which may occur with the test data
