From the 2023 Clinical Laboratory Educators Conference
Presented by Brian Monson, MHA, MLS(ASCP), PBT(ASCP)
Flipped classrooms are not new in education. However, when the pandemic forced students to learn via distance learning platforms, new skills and independent learning habits were created, which support the flipped classroom environment. This session will focus on innovative teaching practices and example activities that lead to improved learning outcomes in a flipped clinical chemistry course.
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
- Identify pros and cons when implementing a flipped classroom.
- Identify and implement innovative student-centered teaching practices and activities.
- Identify key indicators to determine the effectiveness of a student-centered/flipped classroom.
This recorded presentation is P.A.C.E. ® accredited. One (1) P.A.C.E. ® contact hour and one (1) Florida credit hour in the area GEN will be awarded to participants. ASCLS P.A.C.E.® is accepted by the ASCP/ASCLS/AGT Board of Certification and all states, including Florida and California, as an approved provider of continuing education for recertification and licensure.
