Some form of written
communication is required in any workplace. Medical labs are no exception, and
our students are best served by our creating writing assignments that are
authentic representations of future professional writing activities. In this
fun, interactive session you will be guided through creating an assignment and
assessment rubric for an authentic "lab" writing task.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be
able to:
- Identify authentic writing tasks for MLS students
- Build scaffolded writing assignments for MLS students
- Create rubrics for MLS writing assignments that reflect the goals of the tasks
