From the 2023 Clinical Laboratory Educators Conference
Presented by Rachel Morris, PhD, MLT(ASCP)CM
Some form of written communication is required in any workplace. Medical labs are no exception, and our students are best served by our creating writing assignments that are authentic representations of future professional writing activities. In this fun, interactive session you will be guided through creating an assignment and assessment rubric for an authentic "lab" writing task.
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
- Identify authentic writing tasks for MLS students
- Build scaffolded writing assignments for MLS students
- Create rubrics for MLS writing assignments that reflect the goals of the tasks
