Development and incorporation
of high-quality laboratory simulations may serve to augment clinical
experiences that are difficult to obtain due to isolated location, worker
shortages or that may be restricted in specialty areas such as microbiology and
transfusion services. This presentation will highlight the experiences of
Medical Laboratory Science faculty in creating relevant scenarios.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be
able to:
- Describe the benefist of high quality simulation exercises to augment clinical training.
- Identify possible scenarios that are the highest priority for incorporation into their own clinical training programs.
- Identify tools used to create high quality simulations.
