One Differential per Day: A Win for Test Utilization
Manual differentials are a substantial burden on any laboratory's already strained workforce. This session will review a successful initiative to improve the utilization of this high-volume test.
Tips for Successful and Timely Genetics Testing
This session includes an overview of the types of genetic testing available, what is involved in the bench work and analysis, and common issues that arise with orders and sample submission.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Identify opportunities to improve manual differential utilization. Describe barriers associated with addressing test utilization. Apply described tactics to improve laboratory workflows.
  • Outline what is involved in different types of genetic testing. Identify what types of samples should be collected and special handling requirements. Describe common pitfalls that delay testing.

CE ACCREDITATION
ASCLS is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E. ® Program. One (1) P.A.C.E. ® contact hour and one (1) Florida credit hour in the area of GEN (General) will be awarded to participants.
