The Impact of Organism Reporting from Respiratory Cultures on Antibiotic Prescribing

This session describes the impact that culture reporting practices have on antibiotic use and how laboratory-based interventions can help support stewardship initiatives.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to:

  • Identify at least three challenges associated with respiratory cultures
  • Summarize key findings from diagnostic stewardship respiratory culture studies
  • Describe at least one way the microbiology laboratory can support stewardship for respiratory cultures

CE ACCREDITATION
