Fostering Inclusive Group Decision-Making

This session will examine how participative decision-making can be utilized to foster inclusivity within a team environment. The development of skills related to considering divergent viewpoints, improving communication skills, regulating emotions, and building a sense of inclusion, belonging, and trust in teams will be discussed.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this presentation, participants will be able to

  • Define the roles of divergent and convergent thinking processes in decision-making.
  • Apply methods to promote inclusive and robust dialogue in the decision-making process.
  • Discuss the impact of inclusive decision-making can have on team dynamics and professional growth.
