Approximately 50% of Americans
will develop a thyroid nodule by the time they’re 60 years old. While most are
benign, 5% are cancerous. This session will provide an overview of recent
updates in the classification of thyroid tumors and the impact on clinical
management.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this session, the attendee will be able to:
- Describe newly defined thyroid tumors
- Discuss the history of NIFTP, a reclassified thyroid tumor, and its impact on clinical management
- Differentiate between high grade and poorly differentiated thyroid tumors
